What’s New?
- Charts now support "on the fly" filtering. When viewing a chart, the user can configure additional filtering to apply to the chart data (this is in addition to any pre-configured filtering for the chart). Note this filtering cannot be saved to the chart after being applied, it is intended as a temporary filter for the current chart interaction, and the filtering is cleared when navigating away from the individual chart view.
- Charts can be toggled between visual and table presentation. When viewing a chart, the user can toggle the presentation between a chart-style and table-style visualization (chart-style is always displayed as default). The data will be identical in both cases, just displayed in two different ways. Note this functionality works in conjunction with the chart filtering function also deployed in this release, so users who apply an "on-the-fly" filter to a chart, then toggle the presentation, will see the filtered results in both visualizations of the data.
- Users with appropriate permission can export Chart data when viewing. The new "Export Chart" permission enables a new "Export Chart" menu option when viewing a chart (under the new [...] icon). Selecting "Export Chart" creates a CSV that contains the data used to display the chart (the function is very similar to the existing Export View). Note this functionality works in conjunction with the chart filtering function also deployed in this release, so users who apply an "on-the-fly" filter to a chart, then export the data, will see the filtered results in the exported data.
- Clone a role. Roles with the “Create/update role” permission will see a new [clone] icon on the roles summary page. Selecting this icon for an existing role will clone the role and enable naming the new role. This new function makes creating similar roles exponentially faster than creating a new role from scratch.
What Did We Fix?
- Dashboard views do not retain filters when opened. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Order of update bulk action fields changed intermittently. This was a tricky one that has been around for a long time but was very difficult to reproduce. We finally nailed it, and are now treating ourselves to a well-deserved ice cream sundae.
- Search fields in nested views are restricted. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Unable to access nested views with no role permission to view. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Charts on reports don’t display filters when opening a view. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Insufficient permissions when viewing data ingest configuration summary. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Special characters in search freezes the web UI. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- UI mask not displayed when switching tables. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
- Update/clone record fails when form is opened directly with URL. This was introduced in our prior routing release and has been fixed.
