Capture One Pro versions: 11, 12

Access to a ShotFlow “2.0” platform studio app

NOTE: If you are upgrading from ShotFlow capture 2.0.x, please be aware that there are significant technical changes to ShotFlow capture to support the new ShotFlow “2.0” platform, and this release is NOT backward compatible with ShotFlow “1.0” (QuickBase).

Upgrade Procedure

1. Download ShotFlow capture 2.1 from Box.com

2. Launch capture 2.1 and log in.

What’s New?

In short, a lot!

  • Support for the ShotFlow “2.0” platform. This release interacts exclusively with the new platform and is NOT backward compatible with ShotFlow “1.0” (QuickBase).

  • Support for the new Talent module. Manage the Talent resources for each Shot List, including automated metadata tagging and Shot linking to active Talent resources!

  • Support for the new Style Guides module. See Style Guide reference images on Set that are relevant to Shots, Product Parents, and/or Groupings!

  • Support for studio and brand “split” architecture. Full support for the new platform structure that distinguishes brand and studio apps. ShotFlow capture now only connects to studio apps, with access to brand data via assigned Shot Lists.

  • Support for Product Parents & Product Children. Full support for the new “two tier” product relationship that replaces the “Product Data” table in ShotFlow 1.0.

  • Support for Accessories. If your workflow includes styling with accessories that are not part of the “official” Grouping (Look, Outfit, etc.), you can now include metadata tagging for those accessory items without altering the Grouping record.

  • Support for multiple new Shot List controls related to Talent, Style Guides, and Accessories, including: Talent - Manage from Set (Y/N), Accessories - Add (Y/N)

  • Support for additional options in the Shot List Shots - Retrieval - Mode field, formerly called Retrieval Mode (Y/N)These new options provide more control to define which Shots will be retrieved based on their relationships to other records.

  • Support for additional options in the Shot List Products - Mode - Manage from Set field, formerly called Products - Manage from Set (Y/N)These new options determine how SF capture interacts with a Grouping record when managing related Products on Set.

  • Support for XMP metadata panel displays in Adobe Bridge & PhotoShop 2020 releases

  • Addition of a Contextual (Right Click) Shots Menu - enables cloning, canceling or marking shots completed, showing Style Guides, showing Shot details.

  • Support for Mojave Dark Mode. Want to work like a retoucher or the cool kids? Enable Dark Mode and ShotFlow capture will fit right in at the party!

  • Enhanced Shot Retrieval Results Panel - Both successful and unsuccessful results from a Shot Retrieval action are displayed in an interactive panel that provides more detailed information.

  • "Snapping" ShotFlow capture and Capture One Pro to auto align the SF capture List View window with the Capture One window so both work together harmoniously on a single screen (View / Align with Capture One)

What Did We Fix?

  • Shot Retrieval performance improvements. This function is significantly faster due to API efficiencies in the new platform

  • Sync speed performance improvements. This function is significantly faster due to API efficiencies in the new platform

  • Command + K. Reinstated (from about a million years ago) the ability to use [Command] + [K] to trigger the camera shutter while ShotFlow capture is in the foreground.

Known Issues (Carried over from prior releases)

  • When adding multiple products or scanning multiple barcodes, if any are "invalid" (not located in the Samples table of the related brand app), there is no confirmation of those invalid products.

  • Nested child Shots are not sorting as expected (ignoring the sort parameter).

  • When there is more than one Shot List assigned to a Set, and one Shot List has Talent assigned with the Talent window open, Shots captured on the other Shot List(s) “inherit” the Talent metadata and Shots are linked to the Talent records

Future Enhancements

  • Catalina (10.15) and Capture One 20 support

  • Working on a new UI for “product centric” capture workflows, which can be toggled from the current “shot centric” List View
