What’s New?

Shipment workflows! This is a whole new capability for managing samples via shipments:

  • Shipment tracking number(s) are a valid scanning source. When scanning, the Samples & Styling mobile app now checks for existing shipment tracking number(s) as well as sample barcodes. So a user can scan a valid tracking number from a packing list or waybill, and all the related samples will be added to the scanned list. One tracking number scan can now bring dozens or even hundreds of samples along for the ride, so a box can reveal all the samples inside, before the box is even opened!
  • Shipment tracking number(s) are displayed on the sample list. If tracking number(s) are included in scanned value(s), samples are shown under the associated tracking number once scanning is completed.

Home screen  navigation changes:

  • The app home screen has been redesigned to use buttons instead of the tab bar. Moving forward, the Samples & Styling mobile app will utilize button navigation. This is preparing for a future state where buttons will become dynamic based on Role Visuals (not all users will see the same buttons). The tab bar (selectable items at the bottom of screen) has been removed from the home screen as part of this change.

Some other enhancements have been added to the list of samples after scanning is completed:

  • Count of actionable samples is shown on the sample list. In addition to the running count of unique values displayed during scanning (existing functionality), now the list of actionable samples displays a count as well. This helps reconcile physical counts against Shipments, and confirms how many samples will be impacted by any actions to be taken in next step(s). If samples are added or removed from the list, the count will update dynamically. Note that this count may be different than the initial count during scanning, as the scanning process counts unique barcode values detected, but the list view count is valid items after processing against the actual data in the target app.
  • Products with no valid sample(s) are called out in the sample list. If a product identifier has been used to scan but there are no valid samples available for the product, this is flagged in the sample list.

What Did We Fix?
  • Improved scanning speed and accuracy. The scanning engine has been upgraded to improve both the speed and accuracy of recognizing and capturing barcodes.
