User Field Release (deployed 4/14/2023)

Modified on Tue, 18 Apr, 2023 at 6:09 PM

Requirements

  • A modern web browser updated to a current release. Tested browsers include:
    • Apple Safari Version 16.3 (18614.4.6.1.6)
    • Google Chrome Version 111.0.5563.146
    • Mozilla Firefox Version 111.0.1 (64-bit)
  • ShotFlow user seat with access to at least one app
  • For local capture work: ShotFlow Capture Version 2.2.1 and higher (please note older releases of ShotFlow Capture will no longer connect)

New Functionality:

  • "User" field type is now exposed for users with Create/Update Table Fields permission. When creating a field, there is a new type called "User." This field type can be added to any table in ShotFlow, including adding multiple User fields on a single table, so long as each field is named uniquely. When editing a User field, it works similarly to a multiple choice field, but only the current valid users in the app are shown as selection choices. Action buttons can now be configured to update a User field in order to assign work, and View filters can be set to limit displayed records to specific value(s) in one or more User fields. This combination opens up a wide array of work assignment and visibility possibilities across all aspects of ShotFlow, from Requests, Shipments, and Samples, to Bookings, Shoots, Shots, Sets, and Assets -- they're all ready for assignment and individual work queue visibility with this new field type!

Changes to Existing Behavior:

  • "Created By" and Modified By" fields now present valid choices when using equals/not equals operator. These are existing system-generated User fields that now align to the search/filtering behavior of the new "User" field type.

Fixes:

  • A few bugs here and there. Probably nothing that ever bothered you, so don't worry - be happy!
