Generating the Installer Package
To enable visibility to ShotFlow XMP metadata in Adobe Bridge CC & PhotoShop CC (2018-2023) on a Mac OS computer that does NOT have ShotFlow Capture installed, you must first generate an Installer package using a system with ShotFlow Capture:
- Launch ShotFlow Capture and log into a studio application with access to the brand that you want to generate XMP panels for
- Select a Set with at least one active Shot List for that brand already assigned
- From the "Admin" menu, select "Create Adobe XMP Panels..."
- Select "For other Mac OS Systems"
- You will be prompted to choose a destination folder for the installer package
- Upon successful generation of the installer package, a dialog will confirm "Adobe Panels Generated"
The installer package is a .zip file name "Install {Application Name} Adobe XMP panels.zip" that can be distributed via email, filer server, etc.
Installing panels on each target Mac OS computer:
- Once the installer package is present on the target Mac OS computer where the templates need to be installed, double-click "Install {Application Name} Adobe XMP panels.zip"
- This creates a folder in the same directory called "Install {Application Name} Adobe XMP panels."
- Launch the application named "Install {Application Name} Adobe XMP panels" that resides within the folder
- The Adobe XMP panels will be installed on the local machine for the current user
- Be sure to re-start Adobe Bridge and/or PhotoShop if currently running in order for the panels to be recognized
- If the ShotFlow panel is not present in Adobe Photoshop, navigate to "Windows" then "Extensions" and ensure that "ShotFlow" is checked.
- You may be asked to load an extension "com.ShotFlow.XMPViewer.Panel.KRBG" when launching Adobe Bridge. Click Proceed to allow the ShotFlow panel to display in Bridge. If you cancel the prompt, the panel will not show and you will need to restart Adobe Bridge to be presented with this dialogue again.
To ensure that the installation is successful, you can verify the paths listed below:
1) Path: [~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/com.ShotFlow.XMPViewer]
2) Brand json file in: [~/Library/Application Support/ShotFlow Capture/xmpdefs/]
3) There may be Brand related subfolders in: [~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/]
