Logging Data Changes

Modified on Wed, 6 Apr, 2022 at 9:30 AM

ShotFlow offers clients the ability to retain a historical record of changes to a field, providing historical visibility. This is referred to as logging.

Specifications:

Any field in an application can be logged except for system reserved fields and dynamic fields.  There is a limit of 12 logged fields per app, across all modules.

In either a view or single record view, if a field is marked as a logged, a clock icon should be displayed in the table cell (similar to the eye icon for nested views).

If a user clicks on this cell, a modal will be displayed with the changes to this field value in chronological order. The changes include the date/time stamp the change occurred, the user that made the change, and the field new value that was set.

Examples:

Possible scenarios where logging might be desired:

  • Sample Status
  • Sample Location
  • Shot Status
  • Asset Status
