Shot Retrieval in Shot Centric View continues to function as it has in ShotFlow capture 2.1.
Shot Retrieval is a means of "self-assigning" Shots to a Set List through entry of a barcode value. This functionality is used in "Sample-driven" workflows where instead of pre-assigning specific Shots to specific Sets, the presence of a Sample is the trigger that assets are needed, and the capture team just wants to know which Shot(s) are required for the associated Product.
The steps below assume that you have performed the following workflow steps ahead of capture, and have Unrestricted Relationships between the Brand and Studio apps:
1. Shots for the Samples are not in the Status of Cancelled or Completed (unless desired and configured in the Shot - Retrieval - Status field on the Shot List). Creating and Configuring Shot Lists in a Brand app
2. If the Shot List is configured to retrieve only certain Shot Types, there are Shots matching that type for the Sample.
Required for Restricted Relationships:
1. Samples are assigned to a Shipment in the Brand app. How Do I Create a Shipment? What are Shipments Used For?
2. The Shipment in the Brand app is related to a Shoot in the Studio app. How Do I Assign Shipments to Shoots?
Shot Retrieval in capture
1. Identify up to 10 Sample Barcodes or Product Identifiers for valid samples (shared with Studio via a Shipment).
2. Click on the Barcode icon next to the Shot List name that has the barcode icon displayed (which indicates that Shot Retrieval Mode is activated).
3. Scan or type the barcode or product identifier values into the popup box to retrieve the shot or shots. You may enter these values using only commas.
4. Click the check box to confirm the search for the shot (or hitting enter on the keyboard also works).
5. Wait for the search and sync process to complete. Notice the status of the sync in the status bar above the Set and Shot List Name.
6. If shots meeting the criteria listed in the Capture Configuration section of the Shot List were located, they will be assigned to the Shot List and denoted by an unread shot notification. A dialog window appears listing the sample barcodes/product identifiers and possible reasons for failure for any shots that were not able to be retrieved.
*Please note that Shot Lists should not exceed 300 shots as it may impact performance and cause undesirable issues. The recommend limit of 300 or less shots is for all shot lists assigned to a set (excluding Completed Shot Lists). This means if you have 2 shot lists of 300 shots each, this exceeds the limit; however, 2 shots lists with a combined total of 300 would be acceptable. The more shots you have on a Set, the more it will affect performance.
