Access to a ShotFlow “2.0” platform studio app
Upgrade Procedure from 2.1.8 and higher:
- Users will receive an automated upgrade notice. Please note that prior to upgrading, users should confirm that their ShotFlow Admin has approved this upgrade for the studio. Selecting [Install Update] will download and install the latest ShotFlow capture release on the local machine. Refer to this KB article: Updating ShotFlow capture
- If the notification is not displayed, or a ShotFlow capture user has selected [Skip This Version] at a previous point, navigate to Admin -> Check for Updates
Upgrade Procedure from 2.1.1 - 2.1.7:
- Download the update from Microsoft AppCenter
- Extract the files from the ZIP archive
- Drag any older ShotFlow capture releases to the trash
- Launch ShotFlow capture 2.2 and log in
Upgrade Procedure from 2.0.x:
Your current release is only compatible with ShotFlow “1.0” (QuickBase). ShotFlow capture 2.1 and higher require access to the ShotFlow “2.0” platform. Migration to the "2.0" platform should already be in progress, but DO NOT UPGRADE until the migration is completed.
What’s New?
- Shot sorting controls in Product Centric View The Shot List fields Shots - Sort - Children - Parameter and Shots - Sort - Children - Descending are now utilized for sorting the display order of Shots in Product Centric View. Note that Shot Parent/Children relationships are not currently utilized in Product Centric View, all Shots are treated as "children" of the Product, Grouping, or Sample selected in the left panel. For a full list of supported Shot List controls, refer to How Do I Add and Configure Shot Lists in a Brand app?
- Product Children, Groupings and Samples sorting controls in Product Centric View Three new Shot List fields are now utilized for sorting the display order of left pane item(s) in Product Centric View:
- Products - Sort - Parameter - determines Product Children sort order
- Groupings - Sort - Parameter - determines Groupings sort order
- Samples - Sort - Parameter - determines Samples sort order
Note these field must be added manually to applications generated prior to January 21, 2021. For a full list of
supported Shot List controls, refer to How Do I Add and Configure Shot Lists in a Brand app?
- New triggering for auto-completion of Shot-related fields. Previously, auto-completion of a Shot's Captured... and Date/Day Shot fields was triggered on marking the Shot completed. This resulted in no tagged metadata values for these fields on captures recorded while the Shot was In Progress. Now all these fields are auto-completed by either of the following triggers: upon initial connection of the Shot to Capture One Pro/Enterprise, or when a file is dragged and dropped on a Shot. This will provide both metadata tagging support and cloud visibility for the following fields while the Shot is In Progress:
- Captured By
- Captured on Set
- Captured on Shot List
- Date Shot
- Day Shot
- Syncing behavior changes. The syncing process (by default set to get new information from the cloud every five minutes, and send local changes back to the cloud every minute) has been revamped to improve performance and better support additional types of data (Style Guides, Requests, Jobs/Channels, etc.) and future enhancements. This change may result in slightly longer sync time for the very first sync upon log-in (typically the start of each day), but subsequent syncs should perform similarly to prior releases.
What Did We Fix?
- Corrected some readability issues in the UI. The introduction of the new ShotFlow capture color palette in release 2.2 created some readability issues with white text on green background in a few places, these issues have been corrected by changing the text color to black.
- MacOS Highlight color has been removed from most of the UI. Previously the UI would utilize the MacOS highlight color for various functions, which could create undesirable results within the new ShotFlow capture color palette. This has been removed in the primary display window, although it is still present in menus.
- Removed the ability to add/clone/cancel shots via the Action menu if those settings are disabled in the Shot List. Even if those functions were disabled in the Shot List, those options were still presented in the prior release.
- Ordering of Shot Lists without a priority setting in Shot Centric vs Product Centric. When Shot Lists have no priority value, the sort order of Shot Lists was not alphabetical in Product Centric View, but was alphabetical in Shot Centric View. Now both Views are alphabetical when no priority value is present.
Known Issues
- Shot List priority ordering is not correct in Product Centric View.
Future Enhancements
- Contextual menus in Product Centric View!
- Insanely better Cloning!
- Talent upgrades!
- A Preferences panel!
- Orbitvu integration!
- Style Guides upgrades!
- Filtering upgrades!
- Drag and Drop upgrades!
- So. Many. Things.
