ShotFlow Capture enables users to interact with the talent resources assigned to a shot list from within the platform by toggling them on or off. This serves two main purposes:
- Stamp Talent Information: Embed active featured talent information into the shot metadata.
- Link Talent to the Shot: Establish a relationship between the talent and the shot within the platform.

On-Set Roles for Talent
There are two default types of On-Set Roles for talent resources:
- Featured: These talent resources are tagged in the XMP metadata that is passed downstream when toggled on (active).
- Contributor: These talent resources are assigned to the Shot List and visible, but NOT tagged in the XMP metadata, nor linked to the Shots.
Talent Interaction Configuration
The ability to interact with the talent (toggle on/off) is controlled by the shot list configuration field "Talent - Manage from set."
- Yesvalue: Allows users to toggle assigned Featured Talent on (active) or off (inactive) and add/remove talent resources from within capture.
- Novalue: Forces all featured talent assigned to the Shot List into the metadata and links them to shots as captures are taken. Users cannot add/remove talent resources from within capture.
Linking Talent to Shots
Talent is assigned at the Shot List level. To link talent to a shot:
- Connect the shot.
- Begin taking captures.
- Once the first capture is taken, a relationship is established between the active featured talent and that shot within the platform.
- If additional talent is toggled on (active) before the next capture, they will also be related to the shot, and their metadata will be included in subsequent captures.
- If talent is toggled off (inactive) before the next capture, their metadata will not be recorded for that capture or any subsequent captures where they remain inactive.
If the user toggles additional talent on (active) before the next capture, the newly activated talent will also be related to the Shot in the Platform. The metadata for that capture (and any subsequent captures where the featured talent is still active) will include the newly activated talent data (only for featured talent).
If the user toggles any talent off (inactive) before the next capture, the deactivated talent is not removed from the shot relationship in the Platform, but the metadata for the deactivated talent will not be recorded for that capture (and any subsequent captures where the talent is still inactive).
Talent Metadata
The fields stamped into the metadata are configurable and vary by brand. System default fields typically include:
- Name
- Type
- On-Set Role
- On-Set Headshot
Custom client fields can also be included upon request.
Talent Window and Talent Icons
If talent is related to the shot list, a Star icon will be displayed next to the shot list name.
Clicking the star icon opens the Talent Window, which shows all talent (both featured and contributor) linked to that Shot List.
- If an image is provided in the "On-Set Headshot" field, it will be displayed along with the "Name" value.
- If no image exists, a generic person icon is displayed.
- The Talent Window can be resized and repositioned as needed. It remains open but moves behind the main ShotFlow capture window when that window is active.
To bring the Talent Window to the front, click on it or navigate to "Window" in the application menu and choose "Talent - [Shot List name]."
Toggling Talent On/Off
If the shot list allows for interaction of talent ("Talent - Manage from set" field is set to yes):
- Clicking on the image in the Featured section of the Talent Window toggles the talent active (green) or inactive (gray).
- Contributor talent is displayed within a pale green frame and is always active unless removed, but never tagged within the XMP.
Once a shot is related to talent, that relationship is visualized by a star icon under the shot title in the Shots for Products panel. Shots without a Star icon currently have no relationship to any talent.
Adding/Removing Talent within ShotFlow capture
If the shot list configuration "Talent - Manage from Set" is set to "Yes", and the Talent has been shared with a Studio booking (Configuring Workflows from Brand(s) to Studio(s)) the capture team can add/remove talent resources in addition to toggling featured talent on/off.
To add a new Talent resource:
- Choose the + sign in the bottom right of the Talent Window
- Start typing in the Name of the Talent Resource to be added.
- Choose the appropriate Talent resource (highlight the talent)
- Choose "Add Talent"
Talent can also be added by right-clicking the shot list name from within the Product Centric View.
To remove a Talent Resource:
Choose the - sign at the bottom right of the Talent window.
Choose the Talent Resource to be removed (highlight the talent)
Click "Remove"
Visibility to Talent Attributes
If configured, users can view or edit client-desired attributes by clicking the information (i) icon next to a talent record. A separate window will pop up displaying the information.
