Best Practices for XMP Configuration

Modified on Mon, 19 Dec, 2022 at 1:00 PM

ShotFlow can be configured to pass values from various fields into the metadata that populates into downstream systems like DAMs. If there is an existing standard set in the DAM, ShotFlow will work to ensure we match what is expected. For example, if the DAM is looking for values coming from "Angle", ShotFlow will ensure that we match the expected "Angle" field.

Things to EXCLUDE:
Title - this is a SF internal field for the Photo Studio to identify the shot in capture

Naming Convention - this is a SF internal field to pass the naming structure to Capture One Pro

UUID fields - These are typically used as internal "thumbprints" for records. (Some UUID fields may be needed for Asset Automation such as Capture UUID)

Things to INCLUDE:
FileName- The actual name of the Shot at the point of capture (This is included automatically and is not able to be excluded)

ShotName - The title of the Shot (This is included automatically and is not able to be excluded.)

Product Identifiers - Fields such as SKU/UPC, Description, Category/Dept, etc

Shot Details - Angle, Type, etc
